Set up the Microsoft Entra application in Business Central
Complete these steps to set up the Microsoft Entra application for service-to-service authentication in Business Central.
- Search for Microsoft Entra applications in the Business Central client and open the page.
2. Select New.
The Microsoft Entra application Card opens.
3. Client ID: Enter the Application (Client) ID for the registered application in Microsoft Entra ID. This is a globally unique identifier (GUID) assigned to the application registered in Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).
4. Description: Fill in the Description field. It helps identify the application's purpose or environment.
If a partner sets up this application, please enter sufficient partner-identifying information so that all applications set up by this partner can be tracked in the future if you need to.
5. App Id: The identifier of the extension or app being linked with the Business Central environment.
Used to associate permissions and access rules with this particular extension.
5. State: Indicates whether the application is currently Enabled or Disabled.
Enabled: The application is active and can be used.
Disabled: The application is inactive. It must be disabled to make specific configuration changes.
User Permission Sets Section
This section displays a list of permission sets that define the level of access granted to the application within the system. Each permission set specifies what operations the application is allowed to perform and on which parts of the system. These permissions are applied through the application's user context.
Provide the permission set as mentioned above.
