1. Product Properties Introduction

 

 

 

 

  • Go to Administration
  • Click on Products
  • Click on Product Properties under Product Action

 

2. Key features of the Product Properties tab

  • Select All Checkbox: The "Select All" checkbox allows users to select or deselect all product properties on the page. All available properties in the list become selected for batch actions when checked. If unchecked, any previously selected properties are deselected. This feature enables users to efficiently manage multiple product properties at once. The system also displays the number of properties chosen for user reference.
  • Delete Selected Button: The "Delete Selected" button lets users remove multiple selected product properties simultaneously. This button remains inactive until at least one property is selected. When clicked, it prompts a confirmation message to prevent accidental deletions. Once confirmed, the selected product properties are permanently removed from the system. This feature ensures that unnecessary or outdated product properties can be efficiently managed.
  • Refresh Button: The "Refresh" button updates the product properties list to reflect the most recent changes. Clicking this button reloads the displayed data, ensuring that any newly added, edited, or deleted properties are visible. This action helps users verify updates without manually refreshing the entire page. It ensures that the displayed information remains accurate and up to date. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining real-time data integrity.
  • Edit Display Order Button: The "Edit Display Order" button allows users to modify the sequence in which product properties are displayed. Clicking this button enables an interface where users can adjust the order based on specific requirements. It ensures that the most relevant or frequently used properties appear in a preferred sequence.
  • Add New Property Button: The "Add New Property" button enables users to create a new product property. Clicking this button opens a form where users can input the required details and save the property. Once added, the latest and existing properties will appear on the list.
  • Filter Section: The Filter section provides options to refine the displayed list of product properties. Users can apply specific filters using the dropdown menu to narrow down results based on predefined criteria. The "Clear all filters" option resets all applied filters, displaying the complete list of product properties. 
 
 

  • Click on View More.

 

 

  • Property Code Field: The "Property Code" field is a mandatory input that requires a unique alphanumeric value to define the product property. This code serves as a reference for system operations and database management. It helps maintain consistency and prevents duplicate property entries. 
  • Display Name Field: The "Display Name" field is a required input that specifies the label for the product property visible in the interface. This name should be descriptive and user-friendly to facilitate easy identification. 

  • Type Dropdown: The "Type" dropdown field defines the nature of the product property and determines how the data is stored, displayed, and utilized within the system. It is a mandatory selection that categorizes the property into one of the predefined formats. The chosen type dictates how users interact with the property and what kind of input is expected. Selecting the appropriate type ensures compatibility with system functionalities and integrations. Below are the available options for the "Type" field:

      • Key-Value Type:  The Key-Value type is used when the property requires a structured data format where each key is associated with a specific value. This type is commonly used to define attributes with predefined options or mappings. It allows users to assign multiple values to a property in an organized manner. The key represents an identifier, while the value provides corresponding data. 

      • PDF Type: The PDF type is used when the product property is meant to store or link to a PDF document. This type is beneficial for attaching specification sheets, product manuals, or compliance documents. When selected, the system may prompt the user to upload a file or provide a link to an external PDF resource. The stored PDF can be accessed or downloaded by users within the system. 

      • External Link Type: The External Link type is designed for properties that require a URL to an external resource. This type links to web pages, third-party documentation, or external references. When selected, users will be prompted to enter a valid URL that directs them to the product.

  • Active Toggle: The "Active" toggle controls whether the product property is enabled or disabled within the system. When switched on, the property is available for use and will appear in relevant lists and forms. If switched off, the property remains in the system but is hidden from active use. 
 

 

  • Click on Sub-Properties

Attribute Toggles: Each sub-property has a set of toggle switches for enabling or disabling various attributes.

  • Active: Indicates whether the sub-property is currently in use.
  • Enable Filters: Allows the sub-property to be a search filtering option.
  • Boolean Type: Defines whether the sub-property operates as a true/false value.
  • Show Property in List: Controls whether the sub-property is visible in relevant lists.
  • For Internal Use: Specifies if the sub-property is restricted for internal system functions.
  • Select All Categories: Determines if the sub-property applies across all product categories.
    These toggles provide flexibility in defining the behavior of each sub-property.

Action Buttons

  • Delete Selected: Removes selected sub-properties from the system.
  • Refresh: Reloads the sub-property list to display the latest data.
  • Edit Display Order: Allows users to rearrange the sequence of sub-properties.
  • Add New Property: Opens a new form for creating an additional sub-property.
  • Filter: Expands or collapses the filtering options for customized searches.
    These action buttons provide users with control over data management and configuration.

View Details Link

Each sub-property entry contains a View Details link directing users to a detailed configuration page. Clicking the link provides access to more advanced settings and customization options. 

 

  • Sub-property Code: The Sub-property Code field is a mandatory input where users must enter a specific alphanumeric value to define the sub-property. It serves as a reference for the system to differentiate between various sub-properties. 

  • Display Name: The Display Name field is a required input that defines how the sub-property will appear in the user interface. It should have a clear and descriptive label that helps users understand its purpose. 

  • Property Type:

    The Property Type field defines how the system will treat and categorize the sub-property being created. It helps determine whether the selected field will be used for barcode generation or simply stored as additional information.

    There are two options available:

    1. GTIN – Select this option when the sub-property represents a barcode-related identifier.

      • To generate a barcode, the system needs a GTIN code (Global Trade Item Number).

      • However, users may have multiple product-level identifiers such as Outer Carton UPC, Middle Carton UPC, or Inner Carton UPC.

      • In such cases, selecting the correct Property Type as GTIN helps the system recognize which specific code (for example, the one related to outer carton or inner carton) will be used for barcode generation.

      • This ensures that the right product level barcode is generated and applied consistently.

    2. None – Select this option when the sub-property is not related to barcode generation.

      • It can be used for descriptive or supporting information that doesn’t require a GTIN value, such as internal references, notes, or system flags.

  • Product Categories: The Product Categories field allows users to associate the sub-property with one or multiple product categories. A dropdown list displays predefined categories with corresponding codes and names. Users can manually select specific categories or enable the "Select All Categories" toggle to apply the sub-property across all available categories. 

  • Active: Enables or disables the sub-property for use in the system.

  • Enable Filters: Allows the sub-property to be used as a filter in search functionalities.

  • Boolean Type: Specifies whether the sub-property should be represented as a true/false value.

  • Show Property: Controls whether the sub-property should be visible in relevant product views.

  • Images Section: The Images section allows users to upload an image related to the sub-property. Supported formats include PNG and JPG, with a recommended resolution of 500x500 pixels. Users can choose a file from their local device or add an image from the media library. Uploaded images help visually represent the sub-property for better understanding. 

  • Predefined Values Section: The Section provides fields to define key-value pairs associated with the sub-property.

  • Key: Represents the name or label of the predefined value.

  • Value: Stores the corresponding data related to the key.

    This section allows users to set standardized values that can be reused within the system.

  • Save and Cancel Buttons: The Save button finalizes and stores the entered sub-property details in the system. Clicking it ensures that all configurations are saved successfully. The Cancel button allows users to exit the form without saving any changes, preventing unintended modifications.
